Tribute
CBS has grown to help many families over the years, but even before it became a reality the founder’s inspiration hit closer to home.
My passion for serving the population of individuals with specialized needs stemmed from my family. My parents took in several foster children who we all considered our brothers and sisters. Our family was fortunate enough to adopt one particular child. This was one of the happiest days of my life, finally getting to keep one of our brothers forever. Little did I know just how much of an impact Bobby would have on the rest of my life. He had suffered from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Shaken Baby Syndrome, addiction as an infant, malnourishment and later a diagnosis of Autism. The bond that he and I formed over the years became one of the strongest. He inspired and motivated me to help others who were working to overcome physical or emotional barriers in life. What I learned from him has helped me time and time again throughout my life.
I owe much of my success to my brother. I am ever grateful for him on this mission. Like so many, he struggles with identifying his purpose in this world, but I have been lucky enough to have a front row seat, to know his purpose far exceeds those he has met and personally touched. The spark within him has inspired others to increase their own awareness of those with special needs and the results continue to be passed along to so many others in this world. Through him, because of him, we have started CBS resulting in many opportunities to work with countless families and clients. We will continue to do so each day, never forgetting our roots and the brother who never meant to, but did in fact start it all.
